This tefal machine is dishwasher safe so everything (apart from the base) can go into the dishwasher. Chips take 30-40 minutes to cook but they take no watching, so you can sit down and relax or get on with cooking the rest of the tea.
Although we shouldn't eat chips too often this machine makes really healthy chips and you control the thickness too!
The machine can be used for cooking lots of other foods too so it won't sit in the cupboard like so many other gadgets might as you'll find vegetables and puddings can be done too as well as complete meals! There's a great recipe book included which shows you how to get started with it so you can adapt your own family favourites to use in this machine.

Everyone loves chips!

There are 120 calories in a tbsp of oil.

70 calories in 100g of raw potato - so 1kg (a full load) would be 700 calories, so a whole load of chips (1kg) would be 820 calories.

So you'd still be consuming less calories than the following oven and micro chips - and only 3% fat

To use the actifry you need to peel and cut your potatoes into chips. You need to make sure they're dry too - you can gently throw them into a clean teatowel to do this.

Cooking takes 30-40 minutes depending on the thickness.

You could cook chips this way in the oven - throwing them in a bowl with a spoonful of oil and stirring to thoroughly coat the chips then putting them spread out onto a baking sheet and turning a few times during the same cooking time until they're lovely and brown on all sides. That's a lot of work though - especially if you're cooking something else too, so the actifry from a practical point of view saves you time and effort.
